ISH Chaplains are dedicated to seafarers!

Evelyn is active in port ministry, and is known as “Mom” to many seafarers around the world. ¬†Evelyn helps run vans to and from the ports as well as manage the Chapel on Houston Street.

Chaplain Bill Maxey has been a port chaplain since 1982. He is a graduate of The Evangelical Institute (’81). Bill and his wife Pam have been married for 41 years. Pam is also active in port ministry, taking care of many “behind the scenes” needs.

Chaplain Everett Tumblin has been a port chaplain since 2006, and is supported by the Savannah Baptist Association. He is a graduate of Princeton (’76), with a ThM degree. Everett and his wife Joy have been married for 44 years. Joy is an active volunteer at Savannah Baptist Center, teaching sewing and ministering to children.

Chaplain Richard Young has been a port chaplain since 2003, and is supported by the Savannah Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church. Richard is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary (’95), with an MDiv degree.
